I release this album because I create now almost 25 years electronic music.

Started in 1995 with free software, nowadays also working with hardware synthesizers.

This album contains music from the past 25 years, mixed together into a completely new musical journey.

I enjoyed this 25 year journey and I hope you do also...

1995-2020
Phrozenlight is a musical project by Bert Hülshoff, started in 1995.
The name comes from Frozen Light (light without movement, dead space),
but is also an tribute to Edgar Froese the man who, together with
various other German pioneers, shaped electronic music in the 70s.
Phrozenlight’s music can be seen as a sonic metaphor for harmony
of the atmospheres and chaotic fractals. The musical signature of
Phrozenlight therefore offers a persistent, almost cinematic ambiance
to be able to dream on.
Phrozenlight draws its inspiration mainly from the electronic Berlin School,
the Cosmic ambient music. A musical journey through different moods and atmospheres.

Bert started making music in 1995 because in the 80s and 90s the music he
loved became increasingly shorter, while his love included long slow-moving music.
When he started he used a lot of free software such as Screamtracker, Impulstracker
and Modplugtracker. Software such as Orangator and one of the earliest versions of
Cakewalk was also on his PC.
But actually it only became interesting in 1997 with the Buzztracker from Jeskola.
With this software you had the freedom to make your own synthesizer sounds.
You could also use the then emerging virtual synthesizers, the VSTi’s
Since performing with the computer live was rather disappointing Phrozenlight
started with hardware synthesizers in 2007 for some live shows.
So before 2007 al music was created with software. But from 2007 to 2020 it was
mostly hardware synths, sometimes software was added as extra.
But always making music that was possible to play live was the main target.
Without back-up tape or CD.
Most of Phrozenlight music are realtime compositions without any editing
after the recording. Only fade in and outs were added.
And of course the mastering and adding sometimes extra effects like echo or reverb.

This 3 part album set is something I seldom do, joining a lot of old trimmed tracks into 3 long parts,
creating 3 new long journey’s. The trimmed tracks are from a lot of old & new records mixed together.
